WA Map Quincy is situated near the geographical center of the state of Washington, and is surrounded by lush farm land. Agriculture provides the economic base for the area where the rich, fertile soil of the Quincy Valley has been found to be as deep as fifty feet. The area where the city is now situated was once used only for cattle and horse grazing by a Scottish nobleman named Lord Thomas Blyth.

The Columbia Basin Project, with irrigation water taken from the Columbia River and Grand Coulee Dam, transformed the arid but fertile land around Quincy into lush farm land, perfect for row crop farming and orchards. A wonderful diversity of crops, such as wheat, alfalfa, corn, apples and potatoes are now common in the area. The agricultural success brought many food processing industries to the area including one of the nations largest food storage plants.

Crescent Bar Resort is only a short drive from Quincy on highway 28. This beautiful vacationers haven boasts 300 days of sunshine each year as well as boating, water skiing, a nine hole golf course, tennis and sun bathing. On highway 281, just 5 miles south of Quincy, lies the Quincy Valley Golf Course.This course offers 18 holes of play.

Just a few miles farther south is the Columbia Gorge Amphitheater. This awesome site perched high on the basalt pillars of the Columbia River Gorge hosts some of the top name entertainers in the industry today. This is truly an experience in itself, to sit in this incredible amphitheater on a hot summers night and watch your favorite entertainer.
